Senior or End of Life dog photography sessions in Toronto

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day on August 28th, is a day to remember the pets that we’ve lost. The loss of a pet is felt differently by each person, and each of us has our own experiences with our pets. But all of our lives have in some way or another been profoundly changed by the love of a pet. Whether your dog has simply been your loving and loyal companion, your childhood best friend, your work mate, or your saviour in time of great personal need, capturing their last days is something you will truly treasure forever.

Let’s face it, a dog’s time with us is much too short and we all feel the sadness that comes with this knowledge. Saying goodbye to our beloved dogs is incredibly difficult. Whether it is sudden or we still have some time to prepare, it is never enough time.

Why arrange a senior pet photo session?

Photos of our pets have a way of consoling us once they are gone or as their lives near the end. Photos help us to remember how precious our time with them was, their treasured facial expressions or unique ways of interacting with us, the feel of their fur.

While the reality of losing a pet is incredibly sad, senior dog photo sessions, or End of Life dog photography sessions, are designed to be a celebration of your relationship with your pet. They provide beautiful keepsakes of your pet for years to come.

One of my favourite quotes is: “When we think of those companions who traveled by our side down life's road, let us not say with sadness that they left us behind, but rather say with gentle gratitude that they once were with us.”

So let us remember through beautiful photos, these beloved pets who briefly crossed our lives and gave us more love than we could imagine.

How does an End of Life Photo session work?

These dog photography sessions are designed to capture the last days or months of your beloved pets with dignity and respect, and to document the special relationship that you have together.

Your dog's comfort is my priority, so I will come to your home or meet you at your dog's favourite place. Since time is often of the essence, a photo session can be arranged at short notice. I will do my best to accommodate emergency calls.

Many of these sessions are shorter than the usual sessions in order to accommodate the dog’s needs and abilities. I will never ask the dog to do anything that they feel uncomfortable with, and I always try to be aware of when they have had enough.
