Toronto Pet Photo Shoots, 2022 Awards

It’s a wrap. 2022 is officially over and what a year it was!

From some amazing pet photo shoots, to a mini session fundraiser where I raised $1000 for Just Paws Animal Rescue, to photographing the rescue dogs and cats at the Etobicoke Humane Society in Toronto - each and every photo shoot has been a pleasure and joy for me!

Before we start looking ahead and planning for the New Year, it’s time for a little fun - awarding “the best” from Toronto pet photo shoots over the past year!

To my amazing clients, this list is compiled in good fun. All of your dogs and cats are winners! I loved photographing all of your pets and I can’t thank you enough for the privilege of meeting you and getting to know your wonderful pets!

  1. Sweetest senior

Hands down this goes to Mickey. He came out on his 15th birthday for his senior photo session and rocked it!

He reminded me of a little old man with his greying muzzle!  Happy 15th year Mickey and I hope you keep on going strong!

2. Most striking cat

Mowgli gets this award for his cat photo session!  I love his grey and white colouring and long hair and I love how he stands out from the deep burgundy in his background.

As with most cats Mowgli was happier to hide away from me.  But with patience we got him to give us his best pose!  Well done Mowgli.

3. Best toothless smile

While we didn’t really have many dogs in this category, I have to give a shout out to Momo with his 2 teeth!

Isn’t that just the cutest little toothless smile?  Gotta love it Momo!

4. Smallest dog

This category has to go to the adorable and tiny Zoey, a little Chihuahua who came out for her session in spring of this year.

You have to get low to photograph dogs, so with a dog as tiny as Zoey, you can just imagine me laying on the ground amongst the dandelions to get this shot.  But of course it was worth it! Her Mom got some great photo memories!

5. Best Hairstyle

Just look at that gorgeous mop of hair!

How could I not award this category to the lovely Pomeranian, Sybbie.

6. Cutest Ears

Look at those ears - Russell simply had to get the best ears award.  I’m sure you’ll agree.

Russell accompanied his parents on their engagement photoshoot in Richmond Hill earlier this year and perfectly completed his little family. While look just like a puppy, he’s actually 11 years old!

7. Best Bandana

The lovely Betty gets this award for showing up for her pet photo shoot at a lovely garden in Toronto, wearing a beautiful floral bandana.

So appropriate for the location!  I love how pretty she looks.

8. Best dog I’ve never photographed before

Oreo is a stunning Sharpei who was rescued by his Mom and now lives the life of dog luxury!

I’ve never had a Sharpei in front of my lens before,  so he definitely deserves a shout out for being the first of a kind in my pet photo shoots.

9. Best Action shot

While I love all action shots, I award this year’s action shot to Benny, a gorgeous Golden Retriever puppy.

He looks so free and happy!

10.  Biggest dog

This one was a toughie because I photographed a few large dogs this past year, but the biggest dog was daddy’s boy, Kash, a very handsome black and white Akita.

11. Most endearing dog in foster care

And let’s not forget those lovely dogs in foster care who were looking for a new, loving family.

I photographed handsome Hank more than once on behalf of Etobicoke Humane Society, and he’s having a real struggle getting adopted. So here’s to you Hank - wishing you a lucky 2023. Hope you find your perfect family!

And that completes the awards from Toronto pet photo shoots for 2022.  I look forward to doing this again next year.
