THE FUNDRAISER
The Tails of the World project is a two part fundraiser: donation of the book sales AND local donation of the mini session fees. With these combined efforts, our vision is to collectively support animal rescue all around the world.
THE MINI SESSIONS
Each featured photographer of the Tails of the World project will be donating their mini session fees. I have chosen Just Paws Animal Rescue, a Toronto based not-for-profit, volunteer run organization as my charity of choice. Just Paws Animal Rescue works diligently to rescue animals that are in high kill shelters, abandoned, abused, or unloved. 100% of the proceeds of the session fees will be donated to Just Paws.
THE BOOK SALES
100% of the proceeds from the book sales of Tails of the World, Volume 3 are donated to Geelong Animal Welfare Society.
Session fees fundraised by photographers are all donated to local animal rescue charities around the world.
The Tails of the World book is not included with your donation. This book will be available to purchase in November 2025, and 100% of proceeds from the book sales will be donated to Geelong Animal Welfare Society in Australia which is dedicated to the welfare of companion animals. They care for and rehome lost or relinquished pets and provide community education & services that enable responsible animal ownership.
With these combined efforts, our vision is to collectively support animal rescue all around the world.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Glad you asked. As the name implies, it is a pet portrait session, just, well, mini 🙂.
There are, of course, other key differences between a Mini and a Signature session.
Please read on below.
SESSION LENGTH
– Probably the most obvious difference, each mini session lasts about 20 minutes and is photographed at only one or two spots/backgrounds.
NUMBER OF PEOPLE & DOGS
_ Due to the limited time set aside for each session, a maximum of 2 dogs and 2 family members family per session. If you have more than 2 dogs please sign up for 2 sessions
NUMBER OF IMAGES
– Seems like a no brainer, but with a shorter session, there will be fewer images to select from (between 12-15).
-
Sessions are limited to 2 dogs. Unfortunately the time allotted for a mini session is not sufficient to photograph more than 2 dogs and their people. Please book 2 sessions if you have more than 2 dogs.
-
Yes of course! I will spend half the time taking photos of your dog alone as that is what is required for the Tails of the World book, and the remainder of the time photographing you with your dog so you will have great dog and family photos. Mini sessions are suitable for a maximum of 2 family members.
-
Yes ! Additional digital photos and printed products such as photo books, desk displays, wall art or prints, will be available to purchase in an on-line gallery.
-
Yes. The book is not included with your session but will be available to purchase in April of 2023
-
Yes that would be wonderful. Simply add as much as you want to the $100 session fee and everything collected will be donated to Just Paws Animal Rescue

There really are a lot of reasons that a mini session might be a good fit for your pet and family, as opposed to a Full Session. Below are just a few of the possible scenarios.
You’ve recently had pet and people photos taken and just need a quick update.
You’ve never had a photo session before and are looking to try it out.
You want the premium Terri J Photography quality but are looking for just a few photos, perhaps for holiday cards, a desk display or social media sharing.
You’ve been hoping to work with me but a full Session is just outside the budget right now.
You are keen to help animals in need
