Toronto Dog and Family Photography at Evergreen Brickworks
/
If want some much needed family photos that include your dog, or you’re celebrating anything - an engagement, a birthday with your precious pooch, then let’s go to one of my fave places - Toronto’s Evergreen Brickworks.
I love Evergreen Brickworks for photography sessions of people with their dogs.
At Evergreen you’ll find everything that nature offers and more: lush surroundings, grasses, wild flowers, trees, rocks, pathways and water features - all characteristics that I look for in a great photography location.
At the end of our photography session we may even sneak in a photo or 2 in front of the graffiti walls for a different vibe!
Here are some photos from a session with two Golden Retriever’s, Doug and Lily.

More about Evergreen Brickworks
As a gateway to one of the world's largest ravine systems, Evergreen Brick Works is the perfect place to photograph a special celebration with or get those much needed professional family photos that include your dog.
Evergreen Brick Works located on Bayview Avenue in Toronto has a rich history dating back to 1889 when it was the site of a quarry and brick-making factory called the Don Valley Brick Works.
In 2010, a Canadian non-profit organization, Evergreen, transformed the collection of abandoned heritage buildings into the dynamic cultural centre and verdant indoor/outdoor space it is today.
While these spaces are great to visit, we do not use them for photography, rather we walk around on the perimeter surroundings and beautiful trails where we capture the connection you have with your dog to create amazing portraits.
Aside from pet and family photography sessions, here are some of my favourite things to do while visiting the Evergreen Brickworks:
Wander up to the top of the Lookout Path for a spectacular view of the Toronto skyline. It’s a 20 minute hike and well worth the effort. Overlook Evergreen Brick Works and spot the CN Tower. There aren’t many places in the city you get an uninterrupted view of downtown so this is a spot you cannot miss.
Visit the Evergreen Garden Market, a classic general store, contemporary gift shop and sustainable garden market all in one place. You’ll find a curated selection of local food, home décor, books, children’s games and toys, and a rotation of seasonal products.
The garden centre is fully stocked with Toronto’s widest selection of Ontario native flowers, plants and trees for gardens of all sizes—container on your condo countertop to your backyard in the city.
Shop at the Saturday Farmers Market where you can purchase products from local Ontario farmers and producers.
It is open year round, outdoors from May to November, and indoors from November to April.
If you’re looking for more ideas, I have a bunch of other favourite places for dog and family photography - Toronto is filled with great photo session locations.
